Executive Roundtables

Monday, October 4, 2010
Westin Hotel -- Executive Meeting Centre

GTEC is a platform for industry and government to discuss solutions to key issues facing government. Over the past several years, GTEC has engaged government and industry participation in our conference and exhibition, and created a week of activities that put a spotlight on technology as a key tool for improving services to the citizen.

Click here to download of the 2009 Executive Roundtable Whitepaper.

The roundtables provide a forum for public and private sector executives to collaborate on solutions to the challenges facing government services. Established in 2008, the roundtables are an opportunity to raise matters for discussion on a level playing field between industry and government. We hope they contribute to fostering solutions by reporting on the discussions so that governments can leverage the discussion towards real solutions. Over time, this forum will become a valued tool by both the private and public sector.

GTEC Conference (Professional Development Forum)

GTEC's conference offers a robust program of industry and public sector presentations, including keynotes, panels, and seminars on issues relating to our conference theme of "High Performance Government".

Over 1000 IM/IT executives attend the conference annually. From year to year, we also offer focused programming for Deputy Ministers, CIOs and senior public sector executives who have an interest in the current issues facing the use of technology in public sector service delivery.

A conference pass at GTEC offers you "all inclusive" access as a delegate to most programs, as well as select meals and refreshment breaks.

Workshops

Part of the GTEC FREE learning program. The Workshops emphasize practical, useful information that is delivered by subject matter experts, and provide important opportunities for attendees to get in-depth information on technology solutions. All sessions in this program are presented free of charge. Seating is available on a first-come basis.

Admission is free to all sessions of this program. Seats are assigned according to order of arrival.

Cloud Computing, the Enterprise, and Open Source: Getting Beyond the Hype

Cloud Computing is driving fundamental changes that alter both the capabilities and economics of information technology. With many enterprises looking to deploy cloud solutions, there is a growing realization of not only the benefits, but of the challenges that cloud computing must overcome. Only by recognizing both the challenges and benefits of a cloud deployment will enterprises be able to achieve the reduced costs and increased operational efficiency at the scale that can be delivered by the cloud.

This cloud camp discusses cloud computing benefits and challenges from a business and technical perspective and demonstrate the role that open source and open standards will play in delivering the full promise of cloud computing.
